I ordered 16 runner duck eggs and when they arrived (4th day after being laid), they were all upside down. I candled some of them and the air sacs were at the pointy end. I was going to incubate them tonight before I discovered this - the parcels were rested for 24 hours before I opened them... So I’ve quickly put them pointy side down in egg cartons for now. Will they be ok? How long do I have? They were laid on Monday 5th April, I discovered this on the Friday 9th
The air cells should reattach but you should still tip the eggs to a 45 degree angle back and forth at least 3 times a day as turning the eggs is essential for the formation of certain membranes that support the growth and development of the embryos.
