I had a hen sitting on eggs for 35+ days and I finally cleared her nest knowing that the eggs were not going to hatch. The eggs all had gray rotten matter in them. Non of them had yolks. Does this mean they were fertile at some point and all died? This is her first time sitting on eggs. I'm afraid she may have left the nest too long at some point.

Do you have a drake? If so, the eggs were likely fertilized. Since there aren't pictures, I don't know if it was a embryo that died or the eggs were rotten.

There is drake but I don't know if he's fertile he's kind of up there in age.
