Duck eggs

Hi,

I have my grandchildren staying with me in Ireland for the summer. They have entered a few classes in the village Agri show this Sunday.

One class being 6 duck eggs. I have no idea at all what the criteria is for showing duck eggs, neither did the lady who took our entry forms lol

To be honest its just a laugh but the kids want to know how to clean them etc

Any ideas anyone?

I was just going to wash them, put them in a wicker basket with some straw. Or does that lack imagination lol

Please any help would be appreciated xxx Just to add they are Muscovy duck eggs.

I would wash them really well, then rub them with a little oil. I always think they look so pretty when they are wet after I wash them, and oil would replicate that. Everything else sounds great! What color eggs do they lay?

Whenever you're going to a show, you need to review criteria for that specific show if you care at all about the outcome. That applies even if you've been to that same show in the prior year, because they do change the rules from time to time.

Did you ever find out what the rules were? It's great that you got 3rd without even knowing that! Congratulations!!!

LOL. Does this mean that you're now going to be a regular at the shows? They really are great fun. Many of ours were unfortunately cancelled this year due to an avian flu outbreak.
