Hi, i am currently incubating 5 Welsh harlequins ducks and so far so good. We are on like day 17 so only 11 more days! But the thing is that made me worry was that i wasnt turning the eggs properly, i turn them 5 times a day and move their positions but I dont know if i should gently roll them on their side to turn them or rotate them length ways? I have one more question, Duck eggs are meant to be 37.5 degree but we have a thermometer thats electric and you place the top on the eggs surface and it reads the temperature , It says 38 . Is the air temp meant to me 37.5 or the egg itself in the middle??? Please get back as soon as possible 💞

Hi! I think your temp will be fine. Ok so with turning I’d put an “x” on one side and an “o” on the other and when a couple hours pass I would turn them to the other letter... hope this made sense 😊

Thankyou!! Really appreciate it, will tell you if they hatch!💞 So does it not matter which way you turn the eggs as long as they get turned using the X and O method?Sophia :)

Your welcome! And yep make it like a pattern if u start on x when you turn it next you turn it to o! I have duck eggs that have the same hatch date as u lol!

Hope yours hatch! its a good way to get over the full Corona lol. Do you know whether its the middle of they egg that has to be 37.5 or the air temp?? as we have a themometer were you put it on the surface of something and it says the temp and it says the egg is 38! Im very stressed as we have made a homemade incubator and finger crossed it works But so far so good 😊

38 Celsius is 100.4°F so I don’t think you have to worry until lock down when you want it to be just a slight bit cooler

Mine are 17 days old and I have fourteen in my incubator and all of them are growing....my hands are gonna be full lol 😂
