Hello, A friend of mine had a female mallard sitting on 14 eggs. She said that she started laying/sitting on these eggs on April 28th. There are 14 in total. Well on May 29th she called me and said something got her female duck. This was early in the AM and the eggs were still warm so she brought them inside and did a home made plant light incubator job. I then grabbed the eggs Thursday night and put them in my incubator. I have it set at 37.1 Celsius and humidity i can’t get any higher then 62. I’ve candled the eggs and see movement in only 8 out of the 14.
So my questions are….
-do i turn these eggs daily? My incubator does not have an automatic turner but does have fan in it.
-is the humidity issue why they aren’t piping yet?
(if so, what can i do to get it higher? And do i need to place a pin hole in the eggs myself to help them out?)
Any help would be nice! I’d really like to save some of these little ones for my friend!

You don't need to turn them once in lockdown (the last 3-5 days before hatching).

62 isn't too bad. If you want to raise it a little, get a paper towel wet with distilled water, put it in like a shot glass, and set it in the corner of the incubator (out of the way in case they start hatching.)
