Is it ok to have the eggs lying on there sides instead of pointy end down, or should they be pointy end down the whole time?

Thanks!

All I can tell you is that I just incubated some call duck eggs laying on their side the whole time and had a(so far) 75% successful hatch.
I DID learn on here to turn them big end over small end instead of just rolling them.

After trial and error I have found that having the duck eggs laying on their sides in the bator results in a better hatch rate. I havent used my turner at all for the last 7 hatches since someone else told me to lie them down - and actually enjoy the hand turning as I feel it makes me feel more like a participant in the incubation rather than just an observer of the incubator doing its thing.

I agree, duck eggs on their sides seem to develop better than on their ends. I seem to lose a lot more if I use an auto-turner.

Thanks everyone. I have them all on there sides, in an Octo 20 w/autoturner. They all seem fine, just wanted to make sure this was a good way on there sides
