Duck eggs

Giving oyster shell free choice is the best way I've heard when you have drakes as well as females. When mine (all girls) were ducklings, I sprinkled tiny bits of grit on their food, then when they were a week old I started giving them peas and lettuce.

Phosphorus also plays a part in the calcium absorption for ducks, by the way. So as close to a balanced diet as possible is a good idea all around.

Enjoy those ducks!

I know...I really need to do that, for my chickens as well.I have been just mixing oyster shell and grit in with the feed but I can see I really should offer free choice instead. My question is though,I have different ages of ducks...will the younger ones eat too much of it?They are not even close to laying yet.
