I hope that you all can help. I have a male and female Mallard ducks. She just started to lay her first eggs. She will not sit on them so I have gotten an incubator at the request of my children. They have been in there for 3 days. How do I tell if they are viable or not? I need pictures if at all possible. I know its early but I have candled them and see nothing. Please help me out. I am considered Super Mom to my kids and I have a feeling that my title is in jeporady if I can't grow ducks. ;)

They will have nothing developing till they are incubated.

THey can last 1-14 days or more w.o incubation.

She will lay a full clutch before setting so they will all be the same age at hatch.

(some birds start incubating right away and the older chicks out compete the younger ones- many Birds of Prey and perching birds)
