Duck Facial Injury!

Hello! One of our female ducks (Peaches) has facial injuries. She dorms with one other female duck, two male ducks and two female chickens. These injuries concurred while all were out roaming the property today. She was raised with the two male ducks and spends most of her time with them. One of the chickens has been seen pecking her but that usually only happens when we feed them.

I'm not sure if this is:
1. Interspecies bullying by the chicken.
2. Overmating by the boys.
3. Something more serious.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

To me, it looks like chicken damage although I wouldn't be surprised if it were drake given your ratio, I suggest you either rehome one of the drakes, buy more females or separate the drakes into "drake jail". You can wash the wound with clean water and apply Neosporin without pain relief or use a poultry antibacterial spray such as Vetericyn.

I’d also separate her from the chickens just in case it may have been them especially with wounds chickens are drawn to open wounds especially if raw skin is showing. They could go after her eyes next.
