Thank you for the help! I’ve been giving them oats since they were 2 weeks (currently 6). So im positive they’re adjusted to it. But again, thank you for the help!!!So my logic says that if you did 50% feed with 50% oats you would have 10% protein. 75% feed with 25% oats would be 15% protein. So, 1 cup feed with 1/4 cup oats should be 16% (1/1.25 x .20). I think that’s right.
By the way, Dave Holderread in Storey’s Guide to Ducks, says to only add 5% oats the first week, then 5% more each week after until 3/4 feed, 1/4 oats. FYI.
Ah, good. I raised mine with oats too.Thank you for the help! I’ve been giving them oats since they were 2 weeks (currently 6). So im positive they’re adjusted to it. But again, thank you for the help!!!
Quick question, I usually add in nutritional yeast because of niacin. Should I add extra oats because of its protein? I add one table soon per 1/2 cup of food.Ah, good. I raised mine with oats too.![]()
none of them have angel wing, I’m trying to prevent it. The food I have is too high of protein for them and that could cause angel wing. Why are you trying to cut the protein? Do your ducks have angel wing?
Mine have gotten 20% protein periodically and have never had issues, that's why I was curious. Good luck!none of them have angel wing, I’m trying to prevent it. The food I have is too high of protein for them and that could cause angel wing.
