One of my male muscoveys seems to swelling on the bottom of his feet..now I thought perhaps bumble foot would have been the cause, but to my understanding there needs to be a visual 'scab' for that? Now there's no scab...and the surrounding tissue is not rock hard...but this is a recent development...he's not limping but he has been balancing on things, like fence edgings, and so on, directly on these lumps...which is on both feet...and him balancing on them causes bleeding...anybody know what this could be?? The vet had absolutely no suggestions or answers surely this isn't normal and is a callus type situation? as the vet told me??? Please help I'm very worried

I also have no Idea as to what it is.
I just wanted to welcome you here. :hugs I know you are worried.
I'm sure someone seeing this can relate to something that they dealt with and offer some advice.
WISHING YOU BEST.... :welcome

Hello, welcome to the site.
Your poor little duck.
This might sound odd but did you see a vet that is an avian trained or specialist?
I had to take one of mine in and found that most vets don't have the experience to deal with ducks. I took him to an avian vet and got a diagnosis and treatment plan. He also knew other avian vets so they had a discussion about the ailment before offering treatment advise.
Hope you are able to get him sorted soon.

I'd treat as bumble looks similar to me.

Get some Epsom salt and start soaking his feet I use a bucket put the Epsom salt in say half cup to 1 gal use nice warm water to fill the bucket half full then put your duck down into the bucket feet first of course, Hold onto him so he can't jump out for at least 5 min longer if he is agreeable after wards use colorless iodine [Walmart or other pharmacies carry it] The ammonia in the iodine works to heal quicker than reg iodine. Soak for at least 2 days +using the iodine then post pics back of his feet. To me looks like there maybe a scab there and if so after soaking for a few days you maybe able to gently peel it off you'll need to keep him as clean as possible while doing this so bacteria won't enter these areas. [Epsom salt is also a laxative so don't let your duck drink the solution]

Had they been walking in snow and ice? I put my guys and gals back out in the coop after temps went up. Then we got an ice storm and several inches of snow. Their poor little feet look horrible. We gave them a long oatmeal bath and I have been cleaning them with warm water and putting oatmeal lotion on their feet. To me your's looks like mine did when we first got them back in the house. This weather has really wreaked havoc on our flocks
