Hi all,

I got my second set of two ducks today, and it looks like I'm now a home for disabled ducks! My first set had a duck that's blind in one eye, and now that we're home I can see one of my new Rouen ducklings has a foot problem. I've attached a picture, but I'm not sure if it's a birth defect or something correctable like niacin deficiency or slipped tendon.

Thanks!

Looks like it can lay it’s foot flat can it walk? And is it hot where you are that water might to cold for tiny ducklings.
It can walk, it sort of hobbles. The foot doesn't lay flat though when she walks. I took them out when it was 80 and the pool was warm water.

Unfortunately I don't know of any avian vets around here. I got her from Rural King and didn't realize until I was home that she was injured.

If you’ll go here and look for it you’ll see info on chick shoes making you little duckling some may get her foot to working better. It depends on how long she’s been like this and if this is an injury or a birth defect. But this shoe and some b complex for support. https://sites.google.com/a/larsencreek.com/chicken-orthopedics/
