Duck Foot/Floor options for health

No, I haven't. And I've only had to clean out a few areas where the poop get tall, like just inside the door. I put the shavings down and then add DE and new shavings whenever it needs to be tidied. I'll be doing a full clean out and washing down in a month or so. People that go in the duck house are amazed with how good it smells. It's also quite springy and soft from all the layers of shavings.

what most people refer to as linoleum is really polyvinyl chloride (vinyl sheets). That manager was totally out of line since linoleum is commonly used interchangeably with vinyl and real linoleum is still in production - his store just doesn't carry it...

real linoleum is made of biodegradable materials and unlike vinyl, isn't toxic when it burns. However, it isn't very common these days.

I thought so too.

And thanks for pointing out the technical differences.

Thanks a bunch for the tip. I need all the help I can get as I'm about to go on a major building/remodel rampage -- I finally tumbled to the fact that with 4 chickens, 4 geese, and 32 ducks, this is not just a passing phase and I can't just wing it anymore. (Did I mention that I have hatching eggs on the way? Spouse doesn't know whether to look grim or just dazed.)

Now, where did I put that hygrometer....?

My ducks are just now healing up from Bumblefoot, they had a plywood floor that had several rough spots/edges. We put one big (12'X12') sheet of thick, heavy duty clear plastic over the wood, stapled it down (only along the edges), hammered the staples in all the way. It works great! Not slippery, nice & soft, and Soooo easy to clean (we hose it out twice a day). I have pics but need to upload them to my photobucket before I can post them here. I can email them if you want.

I would love if you can email me a picture or two. Seeing as how you have dealt with bumblefoot, that sounds like a good idea. How thick was the plastic? Hard plastic or thick roll plastic?

I am building a new pen. I am putting vinyl on the floor and two feet up on the side walls. I hope it works okay. I found some adhesive that wasn't toxic and it seems to be sticking well.
