He is eating and drinking. He is having a hard time walking. I separated him but cannot figure out what is wrong with his foot. It happened overnight. He is about 5 months old. I have posted pics of the foot. He is separated since he does not walk that great, he was missing out on food. Now he is happy. There appears to be no injury to the foot. There is a mark on it.

Can you get a photo of the bottom of his foot? I very well could be bumble foot. Bumble foot is an infection on the pad of a bird's foot and shows up as a dark scab or as a black dot on the underside of the foot. It can be treated relatively simply however you must be diligent about it. It is not dangerous to the birds life unless it is left untended to long. At that point the infection could become septic and threaten the bird life. If bumble foot is the problem I can tell you how to treat it.

Hope that helps!

It could be a niacin deficiency. Buy the niacin (original not time flush) and apply one pill to the water every day. Niacin is a nutrient they get in the wild but duck food doesn't always contain it. It also is very sudden like that. This should help him get back up on his foot. Hopefully, it won't be anything serious. Keep us updated

Yes, thanks! I forgot about that problem! :thumbsup

Thank you. It is bumble foot. after researching it, and seeing pictures. He is not walking at all on it now. With that being said, today I am going to soak it, and clean it. Epson salt with warm water, apple vinegar to boost his immune, and wrap it up. Additionally, I am going to buy that spray for him...vetericyn. Any other suggestions?

If the scabs are big, after you soak his foot try to get as much of the scabs off as you can. After you do this you have to wrap the foot. The more of the dead material you can get off the better. If the scabs are small or not protruding from the foot, leave them. You probably only want to pull the scabs once, after that the body starts to make non-infected scabs.

Tell him to feel better soon and to be a good boy with the wrapping for me!
