duck got. cut

Well I'd certainly hope that it's common sense to stop the bleeding!! Put pressure on it or if it happened cutting his nails, put some quik stop powder or liquid bandage on the wound.

If it's on the skin itself, try to soak his foot in some warm salty water to help clean it. Do you have bacitracin? Put it on the wound and wrap it with vet tape. He won't like it, but it beats getting dirt in it and having it become infected.

How bad is it, and how did it happen?

If there's any possibility of bone or tendon damage, he needs to get to a vet. The longer you wait on it the more he's going to be left suffering.

Pressure higher up on the leg should slow the bleeding. Get some help. Get a wildlife rehabber, a vet, someone who is experienced.

@Amykins , do you know where to apply the pressure?

Katidbugmae are you applying pressure? Pressing with a clean cloth? Did you try corn starch on the cut?

Thank for the help it worked

I'm sorry, I've been off all evening with errands. Ugh. Your poor thing...I still think you need to take it to the vet ASAP. If it's as bad as you say then he's lost a lot of blood, and birds simply don't have enough of it to lose a decent amount of it safely like mammals can. He may need some subcutaneous fluids and some TLC, or antibiotics to help with a secondary infection.

Good he is healing good he's getting better and making normal now and having lots of fun
