Hoping someone can help. Over the last 2wks or so my female black duck started losing feathers on her wings & underside of her wings and she is also not laying eggs anymore. She is around a year old. The feathers seem to be lose and just fall out. I am fairly new to raising birds, she is my first. I also have 2 other male ducks and they seem fine. She is about 6 months older than they are but still. Should I be concerned or is this just normal molt?

Either they are after her or she is molting?

I don't think its the other 2. They get along great. Always together, always around her like body guards. I came out to check on her and took a closer look for maybe lice or mites. But she seems ok. However I noticed what looks like dandruff coming off her as well.

I'm thinking either a molt or the Drakes are after her.
Drakes definitely are hard on a single Hen

Okay. I will try to see if I can catch the stakes if its them. And I'll post back if anything changes or she starts to get her new feathers.

Yes, I definitely read that. I tried my best not to have this kind of situation. I noticed a few months back they would try in this little pool they have. But I now keep just enuff water for them to splash a bit. And plus its winter here and been really cold. With maybe a warm day here or there. It seemed like they weren't trying to mate lately. At least I haven't noticed that behavior.

They will breed on dry land too so you have to change things quickly.
