Duck has scratched his neck raw!

When it first started he was put in antibiotics orally and externally. He was being given benadryl for itching. He was treated for mites and given a dewormer (ivermectin). Since then he has gotten topical antibiotics and more ivermectin. Last night and this morning he was sprayed with antifungal and antiseptic.

What antibiotics were given?

I dont know for sure. I am waiting to see if they remember. Would a different antibiotics make a difference?

The vet should have a record of the medication, and yes, a different drug might be something to think about.

Thank you so much for your advice and help. I am going to suggest that to them. Although it is technically their bird, I feel a sense of responsibility as a caretaker to him.

It's hard to offer advice when we don't know exactly what was given. I'm not suggesting that you try another antibiotic because I don't know what was given already. Can you get a list of all medications use so far? And the amounts used?

I have asked for them to get that info. But you really are helpful because nobody else has been able to help us figure this out.

I use Blue Kote too it's good stuff.

I have purple towels, shirts, pants, walls in the coop and a lot of times my hands.

Kathy have you ever used NU-Stock? It is suppose to stop itching too.

I have not, but why not try if it's not too expensive?

It's not and most feed stores carry it.
