Duck has watery eye

So my ducks fluffy head flops to one side which is causing her eye to water. I trimmed some of the feathers away from her eye but I’m worried she may get an eye infection. Anybody ever have this issue.

Trim it more and see if it clears up.

Wash her eye out with a nice saline rinse after you trim her feathers. 1/8 tea of salt to 1 cup of warm water mix well then rinse the eye out.

. Good idea. I just don’t want it turning into an eye infection. So far it’s just watery.

Keeping the feathers out should help and making sure she can dunk her head in a deep enough bucket or bowl and rinsing out her eye with saline rinse should help. If you still notice her eye not looking right Monday go to TSC and pick up some Terramycin eye ointment that should clear up any infection. Also add a little Apple Cider vinegar to her bucket 1 Tab to 1 gal of water it won't sting at that strength but can help heal.

The feathers sure are cute, but if they touch the eye at all the eye will continue to water and could get infected, so make sure you trim them way back.
