So I just discovered my duck has worms. She hasn’t been walking for a few months so she has been extra high maintenance from taking her out of the house putting her in the pool and putting her back home. I hold her up with a towel and let her use her feet to walk like physical therapy. Oh the things I do for my babies. I thought it was niacin so I’ve had her on niacin for about 3 months now. It did help her gain weight but she keeps losing it and gaining it back. I saw worms for the first time yesterday. I did research and found out that that may be the reason she hasn’t been walking. I can not get ivermectin without a script or flubendazole I think it’s called. I ordered VermX from Britain but it’s not going to come for another month. It has great reviews. I also ordered “the poultry store dewormer” . Both of which are all natural ingredients. But again they both have amazing reviews. Is there anything else anyone can recommend besides meds that are hard to get to help get the worms out of my girl so she can walk again? Thanks!!

Where do you live? If you live in the US you can get Safeguard (fenbendazole), Valbazen (albendazole), and ivermectin without a prescription. though ivermectin is no longer an effective de-wormer, so get the Safeguard or Valbazen instead.

I don't think VermX is an actual dewormed. If it is, it should say what the active ingredient is. If possible cancel that order and try to get your money back.

Do you know where I can get those? I spent all day yesterday looking online for things to order. Yes I’m in the US. If you can give me a website I’d really appreciate it thanks!!

I recommend using pyrantel as it has a broader spectrum than albedazole and is very safe. [I have used it in my medical practice since 1984]

I strongly recommend that you treat all your ducks, not just your sick duck, and any other waterfowl and chickens you might have

It's available from Tractor Supply, or on line
