I'm new here and I recently rehomed 2 ducklings. We were told by the previous owners the boy, Perry, was having trouble walking. He eats and drinks, not as much as the other because he is reluctant to walk. They are nearly fully feathered now and he seemed to be no worse and no better...until reacently. He will lift each foot like it's very heavy, and will then just plop down. His legs are also further apart than the other and he won't stand upright. We thought it might be niacin deficiency and have been giving them brewers yeast with their poultry starter grower but it isn't improving at all:confused:Please help poor Perry!

It sounds like a niacin deficiency. Get some vitamin B Complex tablets, and grate or crush 1/2 tablet daily onto some food or cooked egg. After a week or two, decrease it to 1/4 tablet daily. What are you feeding your ducks? Make sure they are getting a balanced feed. Ducks need extra niacin. Here is some info:

Thanks so much for the replies! They are eating Purina flock raiser crumbles. I will get some vitamin B today, and hope he can recover:fl
