The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Advice needed. Somebody wants to buy 2 dozen hatching eggs from my EE hens fertilized by my Ameraucana cockerels. I know this is a Leghorn thread, but you guys are the only ones I know to ask. ANY idea how much to ask? I mean yeah I realize she's going to be hatching out EEs, but I don't even have a clue. She's local, no shipping. She goes to my church. It's a home schooling project.

THANKS.
If you didn’t know her and she wasn’t a church member I’d say $30. But because you do and she is I’d just tell her to meet you at the feed store and buy a bag of feed lol. I’m a sucker though, if I know someone I have a hard time taking their money unless I dislike them.

That is a tough one. My BYM hatching eggs i purchase from someone who has lots of chickens and happens to have roosters so she just charged me what she charges all her regular (eating) egg customers. I feel like I'd probably charge a dollar per egg but I also don't know what a fair price is. Maybe look at what day old Ee chicks cost from the local farm store and charge half of that per egg?

Thanks. I paid probably $3 - 5 per chick for my EE chicks. The Ams I paid closer to $30 but that's moot since these won't be pb Am eggs. Maybe someday ... 😊 That really helps though. I like @Kung_pao 's suggestion, too! Thank you both. ❤️

Turns out if you don't adequately latch the temporary holding pen in the garage, they WILL get out and get up high. The one on the cardboard box was up there laying an egg.
Now I see what's going on. For a second I thought they were in a liquor store.

I asked $1/egg. But she said she will pay $3/egg. Yay, works for me! She wants 25 eggs two weeks from now. :ya

Rainy road trip, but a good time overall. They didn’t have a full dozen but they seem to be nice quality.
