Duck head injury

We had something fall on one of our ducks last night. At first he just seemed shook up and dazed. We brought him in to be by him self to rest & today he's having a problem with his balance. Is this something that will pass or do we need to get him to the vet? Were just worried the vet will rush judgement to put him down but we also want to make sure he's not suffering. Please help any advice is appreciated

I have had a duck that was hit with something and seemed off balance. He turned out to be ok within a couple days. I put some niacin in his water because I thought it was an entirely different problem. And you can take your duck to the vet if you'd like. Even if the vet tells you he thinks it would be better to put the duck down, it's ultimately your decision. If it were me, I would watch him closely and if his condition seems to worsen, then I would take him to the vet. If he is eating and drinking fine, I would just keep him seperated for a couple of days in a location where he will feel safe and won't be able to move around too much.

I would get him to a vet and stand firm if the vet suggested putting him down. Ducks can recover from a lot!

I would keep him quiet and comfortable, make sure he stays hydrated, give vitamins and electrolytes in his water.
