I am getting 6 rouen ducklings in a few weeks. My husband asked me to find a picture of a duck house I like that he can start working on for when they are old enough to be outside. I found this

I was curious what you guys recommend we add or change. Also for 6 ducks and maybe some room to add a few more what dimensions are good? Thanks!

it opens for easy cleaning, easy to reach into, big enough - think you got it covered

I have a 6x3 duck house with 5 ducks in it... soon to be 7. Can't add any more or the duck house will need to undergo some renovations.

I don't think I would have nest boxes - my ducks like to make their own in corners.

Ducks are not very keen on ramps, though some have them. I have read the limit is 30%.

Those are beautiful houses!!!

Here is mine

The Dutch door is great for flexibility for me. There is a sliding duck door on the opposite end, into the veranda. The veranda is where food and water can be offered without wetting the bedding in the house.

And since this is New England, here is the snow pic.

It explains why we decided to move the ducks to the walkout basement. Not a recommendation. But in our case, it works very well.

Thank you! I won't add the nesting boxes and keep it low to the ground. I'm in florida so I don't have to worry about the cold weather..just the heat! Luckily I have a lot of mature oak trees the ducks can get some shade under. :)
