Hello all,

I have a sick duck I think. It is a 8-9 week old white peking duck and it won't extend it's neck even while walking. I should add that sometimes it will extend its neck but only about half way. It has whitish diarrhea, eye discharge and can get around but struggles it looks like. When it walk it will go to my other duck and then just sits. It eats normal in the coop but when it's out it the grass it doesn't seem to peck. and it drinks less than what I believe a normal duck drinks. I just started it on probiotics yesterday. Can anyone help me out I appreciate it. Thank you. I attached photos as well.

Is a vet an option? She doesn't look very well, I would bring her inside, and keep her in a warm/dry/quiet area so she can rest. A few questions, what are you feeding her, are you providing deep water so she can bathe or dunk her head, can you check the bottom of her feet for cuts/wounds/warts?

I have it separated under a heat lamp now with deep water and food mixed with probiotics. I had a waterer that maybe it wasn't deep enough. But I have a little pool for them when I let them out. It doesn't get in though so I'll put it in myself but it just wants out right away. I haven't checked the feet yet.

If I can do it my self i would rather do that. But most people around here would put it down. I just can't do that. I thinking about some vitamins?

Her symptoms are concerning that's why I ask, since she is not eating/drinking as much it may be a good idea to start weighing her daily on a food scale, so you can see if she is losing any weight. You could start giving her a poultry vitamin over treats or orally with a syringe, and see if that helps, although I think she has an underlying problem, not nutritional related, that is affecting her.

Supportive care is the most you can do for now, until we can make a diagnosis. Could you post a video of her walking and a few pictures of her poop? What brand of feed is she being fed?

Yes! I'll get a video tomorrow sometime and a picture of her poop. I feed her the Bomgaars poultry feed. Shell eat all the food that I give her. She just doesn't peck at the grass and scavage like the rest

I had a duck like this but it was a neck injury. I had to hold her feed up to her and also her water. She was bitten on the neck by a Bobcat. She gradually got better but I had to make sure she got water. I put a dish up for her so she didn't have to bend down. Do you think this is illness or could she be wounded?

I'm not entirely sure. Shell extend it a little bit. And she eats and drinks normal. The only way she could have been injury is if she was jumped on my another duck

Here's the poop. It won't let me put the video
