Hi, I live in anchorage AK and I currently have 2 chickens and last winter they did well in the cold. I'm getting some duck at the end of the week and I was told duck do really well in the winters and all they need for shelter is a tarp and hay. Any suggestions? Do they need a coop like my chickens? Do they need heat lamps like the chickens? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think ducks need more than a tarp I have mine in a chicken coop for the winter and I live in North Carolina

Send a private message to Alaskan and ask how they keep their ducks in the winter. Someone with actual experience can best answer your questions.
