Yesterday my friend’s ducks were murdered, all but one. He has had most of his tail feathers pulled out, leaving an interesting looking bloody stump with a few feathers sticking out. He also has some bites and scratches on his neck. We’ve been bathing him and putting hydrogen peroxide on them. However, he won’t eat much. He did a tiny bit of dabbling but not a lot else. Also he drooled a bit of blood yesterday afternoon, but none since. He seems a bit more alert today when we took him out. My friend suggested that I take him (after he’s patched up a bit)because I have two ducks already. Would the move be too stressful for him or would it be worth it? My friend can get another but since I already have two about his age...? If you know of anything else we could do for him that’d be appreciated. (Sorry this so long) His name is Alfred.

Please take him. You're friend needs to predator proof where she keeps her birds prior to getting anymore. Please make sure your area is predator proofed too!

I have Albert now. My friend was away for the weekend and picked up a stomach bug while gone, so I've had him since Thursday evening. I introduced him to my two ducks and they've really hit it off. :)
He's much better.
