My Runner Duck, Sage, was floating in her pool, as she tends to do every afternoon. I saw a perfect yolk in the pool, but didn't see any membrane or eggshell. She got out of the pool, but she was off by herself and seemed a little off. Sage has been laying every day, but a few times she has been laying 2 eggs in her pool -- one of them perfectly hard-shelled and the other misshapen (flat on one side) and without a shell . What could be going on?

How old is she, and how long has she been laying?

What are you feeding her, any supplements?
Sage is around 2 years old. She started laying around April of 2019. She religiously eats her oyster shell/crushed egg shells several times a day. I am getting a normal, hard shelled egg from her every day. Once in a while she'll lay a hard shelled egg AND an additional soft-shelled egg in her pool in the late afternoon. For the most part, she lays a perfect egg in the morning.

I'm just scratching my head about her laying just the yolk. It wasn't even broken.

I'd give this a read,

If she produces another one, I might start her on calcium gluconate 23%. The dose is 1ml PO.

soft shell eggs. is she new to egg laying?

the first month or so you can expect some weird looking eggs. soft shells can be fixed with oyster shells
She's been laying since April of 2019. She did have wonky egg issues in the beginning, but she got over them and has been a reliably laying good eggs.

I checked on her, and her appetite seems good. She's eating her duck food and has been receiving worms, BSFL and tomatoes from me. In general she does like to hang out by herself in the afternoon, so that's not alarming so much. She just seems a little slower and spacier at the moment.
