Anyone know when ducks start laying eggs? Mine are white layers, pekin and golden layer 300's that are 16 to 18 weeks old. I moved them on to layer feed recently.

Thanks! Hopefully a few more weeks! My Runners were 4.5 months when they started . Usually around 5 months is the norm.
I've never heard of them laying that young. Post a picture of the egg and the ducks! I'm so intrigued! No sorry. The ones where the egg was are 8 weeks.
I wonder of maybe something else snuck in and laid it. Maybe some small reptile? A snake or a lizard?Hi, I was wondering if ducks lay 'practice eggs' before they start laying properly?
I'm a first time keeper (chickens before) and have hatched out 8 runners from bought eggs. 5 ducklings are just under three weeks old, and the remaining three are just under 8 weeks old (1 girl, 2 boys).
These older three are in a coop and run of there own. However, when we let them out this morning there was an egg!
It's very small and soft, but otherwise a perfectly formed little duck egg.
Just wondering if it's normal? And if not I guess any ideas why?
Thanks
