My two Pekins are coming up to 4mths now and even though I've had them from little ducklings, they don't like to be stroked or held. They do like to be close to me though and keep checking that I'm around (it's very cute!). Whereas I've only had my battery hens a few wks and they're sitting on my knee lol Has anyone else ducks like this!

No, but I have heard that ducks are a little more independant, but they need more moral support.

Yes, this is very common. Most ducks don't really like to be handled by you but love you very much. I have had both my ducks, Ollie a Pekin and Pepper a Khaki Campbell since they were around 2 - 3 days old. I've hand raised them and spoiled them rotten. They're around 5 and a half months old now. When I sit on the floor to join them Ollie will actually try and jump in my lap. If I start "petting" her she will get off and walk away. (She's kind of like a cat. You touch her when SHE wants, not when you want)

they both climb all over me if I have their favorite treats though!

But to answer your question, yes. You have normal duckies.

Lol sounds so like my two Mylo is very much the leader and will come over only when she wants too! Phew, thought I hadn't tamed them enough as ducklings!
