Hello, I realized I never introduced myself (I've been here for about 3 months now).
(1) I still feel like I'm new to ducks. I picked up my first three in April 2022. We're in Tampa, Florida.
(2) Now I somehow have 8... 3 fawn runners, 2 chocolate runners, and 3 ancona ducklings.
(3) Their personalities are so different and funny. You'd think they'd appreciate all the hard work that goes into caring for them, but the minute you're behind with night time snack, they all show up and bang on the glass door to let you know you've f'd up and will pay for it.
(4) I'm also a writer, obsessed with high quality journals and pens, help rescue dogs internationally, and like to travel.
(5) My husband and I have 2 dogs who travel with us often. We treat all of our animals like family.
(6) I joined BYC when I was desperately seeking advice for my then only female runner, Keisha, who had been lethargic for months (turns out she was holding one giant egg and over 60 egg particles). She survived after a pretty crazy ordeal. My wallet is still recovering. Before that, I'd been browsing posts to learn as much as I could about raising ducks. Love this community. So much great info!
Here's a pic of Jerry, who's a bit of a psycho. He's always watching, and once you turn your back, he's coming for you, your dog, your friends, your sister...
He also has cute feathers on his legs and we have to nose boop him because he's so freaking cute.
Still a psycho.
