Hello everyone! So my little duckling's nails have grown a little long and I'm quite concerned because she's starting to get scratches on her beak. I'm worried that she might hurt herself in the future when her nails grow longer. She tends to scratch her facial area a lot and I don't want her to accidentally scratch out an eye. It's a major concern, any advice at all would be appreciated. Thank you!

I don't think you need worry about her scratching out an eye but if it makes you feel better you could trim her nails just have to be very careful just like a dogs nails they have a quick and can bleed a lot if nails get trimmed to short on accident.

Hello!

I found this thread from a few years ago: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/can-i-trim-ducks-nails.296786/

I also found a video of a woman trimming a chicken's nails, it could help you. I'm not sure if there is a certain way to do it, so I'm not sure if this woman is doing anything wrong or not, so hopefully someone else could point out anything wrong with her method.

Hope those helps you! Good luck.
