So.....I got two ducks laying eggs in the same nest......about 15 total eggs in nest at this point. Neither duck is sitting on the next for extended periods......what to do? Will one duck eventually sit on the eggs? Put eggs in incubator? What say you?

I had two ducks sharing a nest last year. I allowed them to "co-brood" and everything went swimmingly for a while, until they started fighting over the nest and broke two eggs in two separate incidents. I removed one broody (who was very upset about it for a while) and allowed the duck that had originally gone broody to hatch and raise the ducklings - and she did a marvelous job.

Based on that experience, if I encountered a similar situation again, I would choose one broody to incubate the eggs and remove the other to prevent fighting and possible damage to the eggs. If you choose to do that, you'll want to monitor the selected broody to ensure she is actually broody and properly caring for the eggs; if she's not, I'd quickly move the eggs to an incubator.

Best of luck with your hatch!
