My Welsh Harlequin duck Charlotte went broody and tried to hatch eggs. She sat the whole 28 day period and no hatches. So I took her eggs, through them away and messed up her nest so she could take a break. She didn’t lay for about 2 weeks but then she did. Then I collected her fertile eggs and they are now incubating. But then I went on vacation and came back to find her broody on about 5 eggs. So I took those eggs and left her to be. Now she lays every two days(it used to be a egg every morning) and she just lays it around the pen. Why is she doing this? I need to be laying in her nest in case my incubating eggs are a failure.
