Duck not sitting long enough?

We lock our ducks up every night, and when we let them out in the morning they RUN to a area with thick brush were she has made a small nest with 3 eggs. The male keeps watch while she sits. But here's the thing-- she only sits on them for like an hour in the morning and then doesn't go back for the rest of the day. Whats up with that? They won't hatch will they?

Not if she's only on there an hour is she just laying eggs? Or do you know for sure she is broody?

I don't really know? It's the same amount of eggs (3) and she has been doing it for like 2, maybe even 3 weeks now. They literally cannot wait to get out in the morning and they both run to them, sits, and then goes on about their business the rest of the day. Weird?

She can't be broody, I'm still finding eggs other places. They stop laying when they are broody , right?
