Hey guys! One of the mallards that made my pond its home decided to lay eggs in the barn. Safe place so I give her props for that! But I didn’t know until this morning when I opened the barn door and she came running in to her nest…. If she wasn’t on these eggs for about 10 hours, will they be okay?

How can I know? Wait a couple days them candle them? See if she lays any more? There’s 10 now, she may not be done laying and be fully broody yet?

Hopefully that is the case. Is she a wild duck?
I wouldn’t say wild, but not necessarily a pet, they came with the house they hang around but aren’t really friendly. They fly around but always come back to the pond

Give it a few days and candle them to see if there is any development. Hopefully some will have made it!
Do you think these are actually mallard or Rouen? They fly, I read Rouens don’t fly. I think their mom is a Rouen, she is bigger and doesn’t fly. They could be a cross?
