duck ownership Dos and donts? breed help?

So, I've recently acquired two ducks from my neighbor. Both have injured legs, but one is healing nicely, and on one we'll know when I get all the solidified mud off (but she is walking.) I've never had ducks, but have been researching a lot about their needs, as I am determined to have happy ducks. I don't even know what kind of ducks they are, so if anyone has an idea, it would be awesome to hear opinions. Also, and important Dos and donts would be great. Here they are: Ariel (the dark one with missing feathers and mud still on her leg- she just came today.) And Cherry (she's been here a week and is looking much healthier- the light one)

Welcome!! not sure on the light ones breed...do you have a picture of the dark one?? Good luck with them!!

Only one photo posted in the first post. Lol I posted one of ariel. Cherry (the light one) has some black under her eyes also, and some on her back and tail. Here's a better one

sorry! I guess i just didn't see it or something! My bad! Poor girl She looks kinda like a magpie, though i'm not positive. Cherry is really pretty!! Still not sure one the breed though thanks for sharing

I've narrowed it down (I think) to magpie or acona. I was thinking Magpie because I read aconas aren't terribly common.

yeah, i didn't think about the acona, but its true they aren't as common. could be mixes too!
