duck pen size?

Im in the process of starting to build a coop for my 3 Rouen ducks

They free range all day, but at night they make a mess in the chicken coop water.

Im planing on building a little shed boxish type house. A nest inside and food and space to move around, and then a little fenced in run to have to water outside. The run would little, just enough for a waterer and some space to move around it. It would only be for them during the night and when im not home. other than that they just room around the yard.

how big would i have to make the actual box/shed? like 4x4x4?

Ducks need water to digest their food, so put both the feed and the water outside the coop. They do just fine overnight without food and water.

Each duck needs about 4 square feet of space inside a coop, so a 4 x 4 coop would work just fine for 3 ducks.
