Duck penis comes out sometimes when pooping?

Sometimes when he poops it looks like his penis comes out and then goes back in.

Is this normal?
I was sitting with my ducks and geese last night and noticed it with my goose. I was told the goose was a girl but last night she was pulling on "something" from her own back end...looked like a flesh colored worm? But not a worm, was clearly attached. It came out a little when she pooped and went back in right away but thought it was odd it came out and she pulled on it a bit like she was cleaning it? Did not look bloody or red/sore...I had just never seen it before.

I am very curious what others have to say....

I’m not sure if it’s concerning as long as it’s going back in but If it gets stuck and won’t retract that becomes a big problem. Is he really straining to poop?
I am no duck expert and only going by what I’ve read here.

I do not know if he is straining to poop.
It doesnt happen all the time its sometimes that it comes out and it goes back in in a second.

We had to cull one of my drakes because his penis came out while mating, but he fell on it while getting out of the pool and then he couldn't get it back in. He struggled with it for a day, then one of the females chased him and bit the tip of his penis off. We culled him the next day (which was as soon as we could)...poor little dude. It was pretty traumatic! We only have one drake left and every time I see him mate, I worry that the same thing will happen to him, but so far so good. After this experience, I'm not a fan of keeping drakes.

Very sad too hear that you lost your duck.
I hope that you are fine and that it will not affect your daily life condolence.
Is it not a possibility to get it amputated if something like that happens i can not lose him.

(Sorry for the bad english it isnt my first language)

I'm not sure if it's "normal", but I see it with my drakes from time to time. As long as it goes back in and doesn't look irritated, I don't worry about it.
