Duck penis question!! *PIC*

He gets it back in, but then he poops and it falls back out again, he also doesn’t like me around him so it’s hard to do anything.
This is exactly what happened with my Muscovy drake. I took hydrocortisone cream and gently put into his vent. You don't want to go too deep. I would suggest wrapping him up in a towel so it is easy to work on him.

My Muscovy drake had something else wrong with him that we never figured out. He had something causing diarrhea that seemed to trigger it. The hydrocortisone stopped the inflammation and reddening. Overtime his digestive issues lessened, and his issue started to go away. So you may want to look to see if he is having any other issue that could have triggered it.

I don’t have hydrocortisone and have no idea where to get it or what it is

I had a Muscovy male with an inflamed penis. However he was able to get it back in, but it took time. I used hydrocortisone cream on it and over time it went back to his normal color and was able to get his penis back in a normal amount of time. My Muscovy female did think it was a worm and yanked pretty hard on him. We separated him, so he could have time to recoup with no one yanking on it.

However, I wonder if yours is a prolapse. I haven't dealt with that yet. If it is a prolapse, I believe you want to carefully get it back in him. Hopefully someone else will chime in about it.
If it’s not a prolapse which I don’t think it is, can I just leave it alone

If it is staying out a long time, that is not good. My drake was not as inflamed, and it stayed out closer to a minute. As miss Lydia said, it can get infected. I didn't do it, but I think for your male an epsom salt bath would be a good idea like mentioned. It will help with inflammation too and reduce any possible infection.

I get you don't want to work with him much. But the more you treat him and handle him, the better he is going to get. Most of my ducks become more social as I treat them for things. You may find he likes you more in the end. They are pretty smart and realize you are trying to help them.

He puts it in and holds it in until he poops again, then it falls back out, I left him alone over night by himself, and this morning when he pooped it didn’t fall back out
