Duck pens

Just curious what you all keep your ducks in? Size? Fence or free range? Complete enclosed unit? Let post some pictures. Love seeing everyone else's setup. Always trying to improve my own

Dog house.....Dog Run......I free range twice a day......I have a fox problem so never leave them out alone to long.....I have 5 Ducks!

Mine free range. I am able to put some up at night but most go to the tank for the night.

I have eight ducks, Welsh Harlequin. I let them enjoy the yard when I'm around.
We have several hawks living in the area, a fox, a racoon and at least one porcupine. The yard is fenced but far from perfect. At night and when I'm not around they hang out in a 10x20 enclosed pen, with a 4x6 house. They are happy to roam and yet seem content in their pen at night.A recent scare from a hawk might account for this.
I plan to enclose a second 20x20 area for them to free range in when I'm not home.

So yesterday I put the ducks in their winter quarters(coincidence lol).

Inside the Saxony house, note the(hopefully) deep litter


And the campbells house.
Note the nestboxes. Amazingly, the ducks lay in the boxes, even though there's shavings everywhere. They even lay in the same corner of the box!

The houses are on directly on the ground in summer, but now they are on a cement block-plywood platform

The houses are nicely under two trees(only one shown, the other is off the right edge) and surrounded by electronet fencing
There are some grassy areas for them to forage in that aren't in the photos

Yeah!
They have wheels, so they can be pulled around, and wire on the bottom to let poop fall out. That way I can use them as sorta chicken(duck) tractors in summer to free range them. And nice clear plastic to let light in. Easy to hose off and all.

@chickens really I know this is from a few years ago‍... but how did you set up your roof part on the kennel? I have been trying to figure out a way to protect my ducks from the rain and snow!! I am constantly putting down a new layer of straw because it gets so wet! When we originally purchased the kennel, it was bought for our dog and we got a shade cover to go over the top... but we never even put our dog in to the kennel... so about 6 months ago I made it into a duck pen for a duck I rescued. I now have 2 ducks that I keep in it overnight for protection. My kennel is very similar to yours! I just googled "duck kennel pen" and your picture was the 2nd picture that came up on the search! ANY information would be greatly appreciated!! ❤

It has the same kennel wire on top and good tarps are all I use.
