I just built a 750 gallon pond for my 6 call ducks, it is about 3 feet deep at deep end. I was wondering if there were any plants/reeds that could go in the pond that might help clean water. I have a diy pond filter that works well but had wanted plants and thought might as well have these plants help the water. I also have mussels in the pond to help filtration. I was also looking for fish to put in to kill mosquitos and just swim around they cant get too big though like less than 6 inches because they will have to live in indoor area in the winter (-40 is not a good temp for ponds or fish). Hopefully the plants that you guys recommend will also be a safe place for the fish to go. So any ideas?
