I have a rubber tub I am going to bury probably half its depth into the ground. Plan to make a ramp to access the tub, are the ducks able to get out without a ramp out? I have looked and have seen both with and without? Thanks

I always gave them a ramp on both sides. They were sometimes successful getting out without one, but I wouldn't want to risk them wearing out and drowning if they got stuck.

I have a 40 Gallon stock tank, my Cayuga (who is a nice healthy weight/size) can get out just fine every time, but my Blue Swedish (a fatty!) will have to give it a couple of tries if the water level is low. She's never gotten stuck and can always give herself a "lift" with a flap of her wings, but sometimes just seems too lazy to want to do that. It's like a last resort. But as long as you have adult ducks and you keep the water level high they should be fine! Ducklings I wouldn't leave unattended at all, get them in and out of the pond supervised.

I would definitely give a ramp out. I for a slightly deeper kiddie pool and it was clear full of water. I went out to give evening feed and found a WET duck. He was hatched this spring but is definitely in his teenaged hormone stage.

It looked like he was tired and I almost got ahold of him before he gave it one last go and got out. He was drippy for a couple hours. He would squeeze water from his lower feathers the find dry ground and continue grooming.

I didn't know a duck could get WET! Now the pool has stairs.
