duck pool

I have a kiddie pool - one for our ducks and one for our geese. I lay out cement steps inside and outside the pool for ease of getting in and out but I don't think they even use them. I just watched one hobble out of the pool, not using the steps. Should I even bother assembling the cement steps every time I clean the pool?

They really don’t need them inside if not tiny ducklings any longer they can hoist themselves out but they might still appreciate them on the out side to get into the pool.how old are they?

Personally I’d leave them inside because i have the fear of them getting stuck and drowning but i’m pretty paranoid about everything when it comes to my fowl lol.

When our ducks first came to us at about 8 weeks of age, I put pavers inside and outside of the pools. They used the ones inside for about a week or so, then started getting out without them. The pavers on the outside are used all the time.

Also, the pavers on the inside prevented them from underwater jetting. Mine love to do that, so anything inside that obstructs their jet path is a no-no.

Depends on their age def if young ducklings they need a way in and out but if older say 6 weeks they should be able to get out on their own unless the water level is low then theyd have a problem.

They are a year old this week! Thank you for this. I'll keep the steps on the outside. That makes a lot of sense.

Same thing here. They do use the ramp on the outside but I've seen them just go right over the side. I took the inside platform out because when they get the duck zoomies, they are everywhere. They do t have an issue with swimming to the outside ranp to get out either.
