Duck poop on carpet

I don't notice the smell so much, but do notice that duck poop attracts a lot of flies. It's can be almost unreal how many flies appear out of nowhere after feeding ducklings for a couple of days.
We love our ducks, with them around I only get maybe three flies bothering me while flaying fish. They run and spend hours catching and eating the flies that get attracted to dog/duck poo

So we found pieces of duck poop on our carpet, and now we're worried we can get sick. We only have one duck since his partner died, we're in the process of getting him a partner, and we've been letting him out of the coop at lot more recently so he has more to explore and doesn't feel so alone. However he loves to wander into the house and has already left us with small pieces of droppings. We used water, detergent and vinegar mixed together to disinfect the affected areas and removed the duck stains but we still smell poop. Our duck pooped in our sleeping rooms so we're worried since we can still smell the droppings partly we can get sick from inhaling it overnight. Any advice?
You could try duck nappies while he's in the house. They do take some getting used to, for the duck, I've found. But that's an option. You won't get sick just from that, in the case of an accident, you can simply clean and disinfect as needed.
What is your plan with finding him a "partner"? A few hens, or another drake?
You might try fitting a mirror in the coop, it might help with the lonliness he experiences for now.

When I was 13 I set a brooder up for 5 chicks in my room and slept in there until they went outside, I'm fine, I'm sure you will be too.🤷‍♀️😅
