And if it's time to stop giving them chicken starter what do I give them and how old do the chickens have to be before they can go off of the chicken starter they are a month olds almost 5 weeks now they just barely got all their feathers underneath their wings living outside for almost 3 weeks so we couldn't give him in the house anymore we had 14 birds flying around the house and shiting everywhere so we both the coop and it's got nice black everything so it stays nice and warm from the Sun and then at night we put 250 watt heat bulb in there but I have been running just a hundred watt in one side of the coop and then the hundred 50 watt white heat lamp and the ducks have had nothing ..fully feathered and they like Bread

I would put them on an all flock or Flock Raiser type feed when your done with your current bag of feed. My local feed mill also has a 18% Show & Grow with extra Niacin that’s working great for me.

When they are getting old enough to lay eggs, you can either give them a separate bowl of oyster shells or switch to a layer feed that has the extra calcium they will need.

Good looking ducks by the way. Amazed you kept them in the house that long lol

Hi there, welcome to BYC! :frow

What chicken starter are you using? Most don't have enough niacin for ducklings.

My preference, and I never switch... is Purina Flock Raiser. I simply offer oyster shell on the side for active layers.

Bread is a terrible treat for ducks. In very small amounts I guess you can get away with it.

A fantastic resource for duck information, my link is to the nutrition page...
