Quick question got two khacki Campbell's while we were getting chickens from tractor supply today cause we fell in love with them. When we picked them out they were calm and really nice. Got them home and they really scittish and seem pecky I guess you could say does this mean they're going to be a mean duck or just cause they're new? Also should I put a smaller bowl in along with their watering dish for splashing around in or should I wait a few days. Thanks I'm a rookie and know these are probably dumb questions lol. I asked the tractor supply lady and she couldn't tell me to much

No pecking doesn't really mean that they are going to be aggressive. Ducks are curious and will peck and nibble at things. Definitely try to handle them gently and get them used to you, and give them treats (shredded lettuce, peas, meal worms). Also move SLOWLY!! Ducks are scared of quick movements, so don't startle them. I wouldn't put a bowl in for them to swim in, inside their home. It will just make things SUPER messy really quickly. I would say in a day or 2 you could take them out of their box and give them a bath time in a shallow dish of water, or a sink, with just a inch or 2 of water for the first time. Make sure you blow dry, or gently rub them off and make sure the water is warm!! Ducklings learn to swim very fast, but always keep an eye on them during "bath time" because they can get tired and water logged. Bath time will become their favorite part of the day!

They are a lot of work..... but SO much fun!!!! Enjoy! And don't worry about asking dumb questions!
