duck questions, but mainly about "squirt"

our little "squirt" the yellow ducking, looks a little strange compared to the rest, we had bought all 5 from the local feed and seed, and they have no clue as to what kind they are, i've looked on tons of websites and i think we have some hybrids or something, here's some photos of when they were babies and some current ones, but as you can see squirt is really smaller and funny looking than the rest of the crew. squirt and one of the brown ones have afros. we have an all black one as well.

we did end up loosing one of the yellow ones, so we only have squirt left, but his "afro" is much bigger than when he was a baby baby.

Any replies back would be greatly appreciated, we just wanna make sure the others ain't eating all the food, even though we don't see them fighting at all...

I'm not really sure what you are asking. Are you wondering what type of duck "squirt" is being as though he has an afro? If so, I am happy to announce that you are the proud owner of a crested duck. I have one who as an "afro". He is the one on the right. Can you see his afro? He is a character.

Crested Duck (domestic breed)

The domestic Crested Duck is a duck breed descended from the Mallard. It has its appearance because it is heterozygous for a genetic mutation causing a deformity of the skull. As a result, when a pair of crested ducks breed, the young sort out in the usual 1-2-1 ratio:-

25% are homozygous for the normal allele of this gene and so have no crest and if bred together their offspring will never have a crest.
50% are heterozygous for this gene and hatch with a crest of varying sizes.
25% are homozygous for the crested allele of this gene and die from exposed brain without hatching, as it is lethal in homozygous form.
If a crested duck and a non-crested duck breed together, the resulting ducklings would be expected to be 50% crested and 50% non-crested.​

Squirt is a Crested Fawn & White Runner duck and the others look like Rouens. If i'm right he is supposed to be smaller, he will grow to be about 4 pounds while the Rouens will be about 7 pounds. here is a link to a picture of a Fawn & White Runner duck. Hope This helps!

Thank you all for your replies, I have done lots of looking up online and
Was confused and thought he/she was crested but didn't know if they could
have "Afros" or not because I could not find any like him.
Squirt's face was dirty when we took the photo and didn't realize till after when
I thought his/her bill was more tan than usual lol
I do have a goose post also if any could help with it as well?

Yes he/she will always be smaller.​

but yes, runners are a smaller breed of duck, mine are both girls and just over 3 pounds. And they stand more upright than other breeds of duck.

More proud than the other ducks. Like I said prior we had gotten them
All at a feed and seed, which had all sorts of varieties and none of the
workers, had a clue what they were. Same with our turkey and geese.
