Duck Repellent - Trying to Protect Ducks

I’ve had ducks for years and only this summer have they decided the grass is greener on the other side of the road.

I’m looking for a safe and harmless way to keep them in the yard and prevent them from crossing the road. I tried keeping them in the coop for awhile because sometimes that helps them to forget about their new “favorite spot” but to no avail this time. Due to the layout and use of our yard a fence is not possible. Any tips or suggestions are welcome.

Fence is not plausible in our situation unfortunately.

a fence is the only way unless u train a livestock dog to herd them in their own area

Electric fences are very portable/movable and can be arranged around awkward areas, or set up in just the area you want the ducks.

In the short term, you can put up something scary by the road like Mylar balloons, holographic ribbon blowing, or a wind sock.

A large run and only supervised time out of it so you can stop them from leaving. Im afraid if you don’t do something someone is going to get run over.
