Hi! I think my ducks may have a cold or a respiratory disease. I can hear them breathing. They seem like they have stuffy noses. Other than that, they seem just fine! They get baths about 3 times a day and eat and drink just fine. Energy levels are completely normal too. I’m just wondering what the best medicine and antibiotics to give them to help them get better and what vitamins and where to get all these at? Thanks so much!

Ducks actually don't get colds. Are there any symptoms aside from hearing them breathing? Any eye bubbles or nasal discharge or anything like that? If they do have a respiratory disease, which one it is will affect what you use to treat it. Tylan antibiotic is a good broad spectrum choice, but it won't, for example, treat aspergillosis.

Which respiratory disease it could be, if they do have one, is slightly more narrowed down than if they were chickens, at least. For examples, ducks cannot get and are not affected by coryza, which chickens are. But there are still several possibilities, some of which never go away and they have for the rest of their lives and would pass along to any other birds they come into contact with.

Or it might be something as simple as the coop hasn't been cleaned in awhile and ammonia buildup is bothering them.

Thanks for the response! The only thing is that I can hear them breathing. No nasal discharge or eye bubbles. Other than the breathing, they seem perfectly fine. I clean the coop out 3 times a day also. Have any suggestions what to do for the breathing?

I have read similar questions and noticed some people use VetRx. Maybe you can search for that to see if it has helped others?
