Duck run built on concrete???

We will be building our duck run on an existing concrete pad in our backyard. What would be the best material for over the concrete? Pea Gravel? Wood chips? Rubber matts?

I would say rubber mats so you can hose it down. Our ducks are on grass and dirt so I water the poop into the ground to feed the worms and enrich our soil. Our ducks are so much easier to keep than our chickens because we don't have the mess of poop covered shavings to dispose of in the yard compost. Duck poop does not need to age like chicken poop so it breaks down and washes away cleaner with far less stink and mess. We get alot of rain in the Pacific Northwest so that keeps the yard clean while the coops are much more work due to the mess of the bedding. The winter can get muddy from all the rain but the ducks love it because they feast on the worms being fed by their poop.
